How to get help when something isn't working.
The fastest way to a fix is a ticket. Below are the contact paths, the top self-service fixes, and how-to files by system.
File a ticket
Fastest path to a fix.
Email opens a ticket in IncidentIQ.
Send to
Any message to this address becomes a ticket. Reply to the ticket thread to add details.
Open a new ticketWhat to include
Your device (MacBook Air serial or asset tag if you have it), the app or website affected, the exact error message, and a screenshot if you can. The more specific, the faster the fix.
Response times
Tickets are prioritized by date received and impact.
Locked out?
If you can't email, call your school office.
For any account issue (login, password, access, MFA), the Tech Department handles it. If you can email, file a ticket. If you're fully locked out and can't reach a keyboard, call your school's main office and they'll get a tech team member on it right away.
Elizabeth Ide (K through 2)
Prairieview (grades 3 through 5)
Lakeview (grades 6 through 8)
District Office: 630-783-5000 · 699 Plainfield Rd, Downers Grove.
Try this first
Common self-service fixes.
Before you file a ticket, try these four first.
Run Fix It on your MacBook
Open JAMF Self Service and click Fix It. It runs the standard checks and prompts a restart at the end. Full details in the MacBook Air section.
Sign out and back into Chrome
Click your profile avatar in the upper-right corner of Chrome, then Sign out. Sign back in with your CCSD66 Google account. Clears most sync issues.
Clear cache and cookies
Chrome three-dot menu, More tools, Clear browsing data. Pick the last hour or last day. Solves stale-page and can't-log-in issues.
Reconnect to ClassLink
Sign out of ClassLink, close the tab, reopen launchpad.classlink.com/ccsd66, and sign back in. Refreshes app connections.
Your device
MacBook Air.
The staff device for CCSD66. Managed by the Tech Department, kept up to date automatically.
One-click self-service
Try Fix It first.
Open
JAMF Self Service on your MacBook and click the Fix It tile (the icon is the Fix It tile). It runs a set of utilities to check the device is running properly, then prompts you to restart. Handles a large share of the common MacBook issues before you need a ticket.
If Fix It doesn't help
File a ticket at tickets@ccsd66.incidentiq.com. Include your MacBook Air serial or asset tag, what you were doing when the issue happened, and any error message you saw.
Software updates
The Tech Department pushes MacBook updates automatically. If your device asks you to restart for an update, allow it when you can. Never skip a Fix It restart prompt.
2FA rollout
Use Apple Passwords for your Google 2FA code.
CCSD66 is rolling out two-factor authentication on Google accounts. Store your verification code in the Apple Passwords app on your MacBook so it generates the rotating 6-digit code you need to sign in. No third-party authenticator app needed.
How it works: In your Google account 2-Step Verification setup, pick "Authenticator app" and reveal the QR code or setup key. In Apple Passwords, open your Google entry, click Edit, click Set Up Code, and paste the key. The 6-digit code refreshes every 30 seconds.
How-to files
MacBook Air topics.
CCSD66-specific how-to files. All staff how-tos live in this Drive folder (restricted to ccsd66.org).
What to expect at device pickup
Your CCSD66 profile is pre-added by the Tech Department. You'll get your login credentials at pickup. This covers first boot, verifying network access, and what to do if the login doesn't work.
Add a printer
Printers install through JAMF Self Service and are organized by building. Open Self Service, find the group for your building (Elizabeth Ide, Prairieview, Lakeview, or District Office), and click the printer you need.
Install district-approved apps
Same JAMF Self Service app that handles printers and Fix It. Browse the catalog and install what you need without opening a ticket.
Managing storage
What fills up (Downloads, offline Drive files, Photos), what to clean, and where to save. Personal iCloud accounts are not allowed on district MacBooks. Use Google Drive for personal-scope file storage.

Three how-tos, one classroom.
Set up all three at the start of the school year or after a room change.
Apple TV screen mirror
Turn on Apple TV and projector, use Control Center to mirror to your room's Apple TV. Apple TVs are named by building and room (LV_101, PV_206, etc.).
