Step by step

How to check current grades.

  1. Open Family Access

Sign in to the Skyward app or open Family Access on the web.

  2. Pick your student

If you have more than one child, use the student picker at the top.

  3. Tap Grading

You'll see the current grade in each class — the headline number.

  4. Tap any class to drill in

See assignment-by-assignment scores and teacher comments.

  5. For missing or upcoming work, tap Assignments

A flat list across all classes — easier to scan than going class by class.

Tips for parents

Get more out of it.

Pick a rhythm

You don't need to check every day. Sunday nights work for a lot of families. Keep it sustainable.

Read teacher comments

Tap an assignment to see what the teacher wrote. Often more useful than the score itself.

Turn on notifications

In the app settings, enable grade and assignment alerts so you hear about changes without checking.
